Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What Music Should I choose?
A: This is entirely up to the brides.  ViolinWedding is more than happy to make recommendations.  However, keep in mind that certain churches require only sacred music to be played.  This could be a limitation, but there is a variety of music that fulfills this requirement.

Q: What does Ms. Bailey need at a ceremony?
A: The most important thing is enough space to play.  The musician typically is positioned at the front of the service, off to the side.  Ms. Bailey brings her own music stand.  A chair with no arms is nice, but not a necessity.

Q: Does the musician come to the rehearsal?
A: If available, Ms. Bailey can come to the rehearsal, but there is an extra charge ($50).  Rehearsal attendance is usually unnecessary for most wedding professionals; the rehearsal is more for the bridal party to know their entrances and the order of the service.

Q: When should I hire my ceremony musician?
A: You should hire your musician as soon as possible; this ensures you have reserved your date.  Most wedding professionals will not hold a date until a deposit is paid.  If available, some last minute requests may be honored, at the discrestion of the musician.  It is strongly advised to not wait until the last minute!

Q: What is usually played for the prelude and postlude music?
A: Ms. Bailey has a wide selection of classical and popular tunes to play both before and after the ceremony.  The prelude music is meant to set the mood for the service.  The postlude music is mainly upbeat pieces that are played as your guests exit the church.  However, if guests are milling around the church, the postlude music will last no longer than 15 minutes.
